Katara grunted, her eyes pinched shut in pain. Due to the amount of people crowded on Appa, the tan girl had been made to sit with her back propped crudely against his sadle. The group had landed, and all riders seemed to praise the ground in which they kneeled, happy to be off the beast's back. So the survivors walkd a short distance, with much groaning and complaining. sure most of that had came from Sokka but the rest were in just as bad a mood.
So finally the crowd shuffled up to a deep crevice that held a mist so thick it was impossible to see through. The crack expanded into a large canyon before reaching out toward the West and East, a river could be heard over the hiss of swirling fogg. After Toph announced the Eastern Air Temple being under a large overhanging, they dropped some rope over the edge. Three earthbenders on the squad helped as they reached the upsidedown buildings of the Temple.
No matter how much Katara was a people person, the recent defeat and being crammed with others the entire evening made her want solitude. So as some went to scout the grounds, others for food, Katara volunteered to find suitable drinking water. Aang exitedly asked if he could accompany but the waterbending master, rather roughly, turned him down.
So after hiking through a maze of hallways the chocolate teenager arrived on a large courtyard. In the middle lay a huge circular fountain. Katara let loose a foggy sigh as she slid ever closer to the pond. Yes there was a sufficient amount of water in her four skins but finally being close to this much clear liquid gave her a higher peace.
Katara slipped off her shoes and water skins stiffly before sitting on the thick edge of the fountain. Swinging her legs into the pond, the girl only had enough time to smile before dropping face first into the stuff. Allowing her form to go limp and float to the surface, Katara floated on her back and waved a hand to her left. The water around her swirled and buckled, moving of it's own accord, directed only be it's mistress' wrist.
The entire fountain seemed to lend an ounce of help, the many gallons working together to push Katara onto it's marble edge in a sitting position. "Alright," she breathed, "time to take care of these cramps." With a twitch of the fingers and a flick of the wrists, a sphere of blue rose from the fountain's contents and divided in two. Each slid through the air and nestled in the palms of Katara. Just as it touched her skin, the water glew a brilliant mixture of navy tones.
After rubbing the shining stuff over her joints and bruises, Katara felt much better. The teen pulled her toes from the pond and slid them into her shoes. All was at peace for the first time in weeks in her mind, and then with a snap of a twig and the shuffle of footsetps it was gone. Katara looked behind her kindly, thinking Aang had dropped in from a higher level with aid of the Northern Wind. The girl's eyes melted into a fit of bubbling rage at the sight of the Fire Nation Prince. If it had not been for the arrival of Sokka from behind, Katara might have sent an icy dagger through the firebender's heart.
