Plot:
A century ago, the Four Nations were in a state of peaceful equilibrium. However, the Fire Nation, under the guise of wanting to share its nation's culture and prosperity with the rest of the world, readily engaged the other three countries in a war for complete and total supremacy.
The Avatar was said to have been capable of stopping the war, though when he disappeared off of the face of the planet, he left the world to endure a brutal onslaught over the course of the next hundred years.
Within the period of the next century, the four air temples have been destroyed, leaving the airbenders' existence to teeter on the very brink of extinction.
Though the other nations put up a fierce fight, most struggles eventually proved unsuccessful in the long run as any and everyone who opposed the great Fire Nation was promptly squashed; all except the strongholds of the Earth Kingdom.
With the Fire Nation having essentially taken over the world, there are still disbanded units of resistance scattered throughout the Earth Kingdom and dwindling Water Tribes.
And, ridiculous as some of them may be, there seem to be the occasional gossip in the Earth Kingdom that among some of these assembled parties are other airbenders whose ancestors had taken to hiding when the air temples were under attack.
These figures, however, are oftentimes regarded with bitter contempt, being as, even if it wasn't directly their fault, their descendants betrayed their family and friends in order to save themselves from total annihilation. So far, these seem to be just rumors.
On that note, the current Avatar, the only known airbender named Aang, has been rediscovered by two Southern Water Tribesmen, Katara and Sokka, and together they are trying to restore peace throughout the land.
However, even so, recently the last remaining Earth fortresses have been conquered by the Fire Nation, leaving the Fire Nation to have achieved its ambition of complete world domination.
The Avatar, Aang, has finally succeeded in defeating Fire Lord Ozai with the discreet help of the princess, Azula, who had convinced her brother that she had changed for the better. Turns out, her guise of becoming 'good' was only ruse so she herself could become the next Fire Lord, or Fire Lady, as the case may be.
Expectedly, when her father was out of the way, Azula at last claimed the throne( being as Zuko, first born, was convincted of treason, leaving Azula heiress by default ) and even more typical, she has resorted back to her old ways.
Azula has become a considerably better ruler than her father ever was in the sense that she's more devious and cunning, though with the throne she has inherited her father's and the rest of the family's ideals of sharing their power with the other three nations. Now the world is condemned to fall victim to a new era, the Reign of Fire Queen Azula!
With the world's natural balance out of whack, it's up to the people to choose what happens next.
